Description
Our stone carving courses have specific themes, this means the tutor can provide the same step by step instruction to each participant. This year’s ‘Green Goddess’ theme is inspired by an almost 2000 year old tradition of green man carvings, a common feature in medieval churches. Our Green Goddess is a stylised face engulfed by foliage. You will be carving Maltese limestone which is soft enough to enable you to complete your carving in two days but still hard enough to ‘take enough detail’ to allow your creativity to come to the fore.
What's included in the price?
You will be provided with the stone to carve and keep and the use of tools and safety equipment. You will receive one to one guidance from the course tutor, Tony Crellin who has been carving for over 30 years . All courses start at 9.00 am and finish at 4.00 pm with a midday lunchtime break and time made for the all essential mid morning and mid afternoon brew. Buffet lunch provided.
